Carcasses of Angels

Clocked Out with Cat Hope

Saturday 3 August 2019 | 3pm-5pm
Lagavulin

Taking the text from a Craig Foltz poem, Carcasses of Angels is a series of spoken word songs for piano, bass and drums plus new works created by this unique trio. Cat Hope creates exquisite, iPad scrolling, graphic scores that inspire new sounds from the musicians. She has a particular love of low frequency sound (she runs the Australian Bass Orchestra!) and sound texture improvisations. In this concert she will attempt to add electronics to Erik's fabulous grand toy piano, shape-shifting the normally tinkly instrument. Expect to hear flute, electric bass, prepared piano, percussion, toy piano, and electronics in yet another set of new sonic experiments fresh from the laboratory.
